I have been working on the same crosstitch on and off for about the past 3 years. Lately I have been working a lot more on it and I have almost finished it. It is one in a series of designs of "queens".
The one that I'm working on now is the Spring Queen:

The other designs include the Summer Queen:

And finally, the Christmas Queen:

I think all of these designs are so beautiful, it has been difficult for me to decide which one I would like to start next. Which one do you think I should do next?

Post a CommentI like the winter one. Is cross stiching easy or difficult?
Sometimes it can be difficult if the pattern is very intircate, which it is on these designs. These also include a lot of bead work which is what I am finishing up on now. There are many varying levels of difficulty in crosstitch work, but I think it's worth it in the end.
BTW, sorry the pictures are so small, I don't kow what happened!

good luck wıth ıt! I've always wanted to cross=stich, but it does seem like a lot of work!
I would probably move onto Summer Queen. I think it would be great if you did them all!
Btw., I think it's great you have a hobby.
Those are gorgeous. I voted Winter Queen, but the others may be more fun to do, as they have more colour.
You are more patient then I am!

They're kind of hard to see but I really like the Winter Queen.
i voted winter queen cos of the colors.
I onced did a Marilyn Monron portrait in cross stitch, it was monocrhome colors, so imagine all the confusion and i have to figure out which shade of black and grey to use!! But the finished product looks lovely and i got it framed up in my bedroom.
I don't think it's crazy at all. It's really cool, and I can definitely appreciate the amount of time it takes to complete, what with all the intricate details and all.
I like the winter and autumn queens.
i voted winter cause it looks gorgeous..i have a cross-sticth project on hold at the moment. lack of time keeps me from finishing it!
by the way..GOODLUCK!

Anyhoo, if you want to go to the site mirabilia . com, you can search through all of the artists beautiful conceptions. There are a coupple more that I want to do, I will post them in another thread.

I cross stitch too! nothing as detailed as that but I am working my way up to it! do you soak your embroidery string first?

Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
No, I'm not a very experienced crosstitcher either, which is why it has taken me almost 3 years to finish this thing!! What does soaking the floss first do?

It keeps the floss from bleeding its colors on other floss and teh canvas...I did one of my school crest which was set inside of a helm, and the brown has left stains all over the canvas to where i am going to have to throw it away...

I didn't do that, but most of the threads that are on the canvas now have been on there for over a year so I don't think they will bleed, at least I hope they don't!! I will def. use this method the next time though! Thanks for the tip!
